Universal Studios in Orlando has been a long time customer of Visual Impressions. We have supplied the vinyl for many of their Superhero characters for years. Recently, Universal engaged VI to completely rehab these signs, including substructure repair, painting, new vinyl and installation. Our first project consisted of four characters: Captain America, Iron Man, Doombot and Thor. VI brought the substructures of these characters to our facility in Charlotte, performed a comprehensive rehab then reinstalled the characters back in the park with new vinyl. We were able to accomplish this in just one week! VI and Universal have plans to complete similar projects throughout the park. Check out these photos of the process.
North Fulton Hospital, outside of Atlanta, recently added some graphics to their servery (print and install by VI). The large image of trees is an actual image from a GA landscape. This is a 3M adhesive vinyl with matte overlaminate. The food images are puck mounted acrylic – vinyl is applied to the acrylic second surface; all acrylic is cut by our laser cutter, allowing for polished edges.

Visual Impressions has been printing stretched canvas pieces for customers for over a decade. Stretched canvas pieces are a beautiful way to add style to any commercial environment: food service, retail, services! But in the food service industry, we noticed that there were some drawbacks to actual canvas – mostly longevity, durability and cleanability. So we created a “faux” canvas. We add canvas texture to the image and print on vinyl adhered to sintra, adding pinch cleats for the stretch canvas look. These pieces are extremely easy to clean, which is necessary in a high traffic, food environment. Another way we add another dimension to these “faux canvas” is by taking a panoramic shot and dividing into same size panels. Here are some examples of some recent projects!
Visual Impressions recently installed these acrylic dimensional pieces at EnPro corporate office. The flags at top are matte vinyl adhered to 1/4″ acrylic. The ovals are dusted vinyl adhered to 1/4″ clear acrylic. All acrylic cuts were done with our CNC laser. Lettering was created with brushed aluminum laminate on sintra. Design of this signage was created by Bright Yellow Jacket. Find out more about this creative team at their website: http://www.brightyellowjacket.com/
